Azura Benguerra Island is a 20 villa property located in Southern Mozambique which was built by the local community and operated in partnership with same.
It is an unspoilt island with a Marine National Park, deserted beaches of pure white sand, sparkling turquoise seas, sunny days and star-studded nights.
This has to be the enchanting island escape you have always fantasized about.
It is the first Eco-Friendly resort of its kind in Mozambique with sparkling private pools. Here, the butler-hosts look after your every need and you may have fish and seafood fresh from the ocean. The most basic of dishes are a taste sensation especially the fresh prawns slathered in fiery peri peri sauce, for a true taste of Mozambique. There are also a fantastic range of activities and experiences and an African spa to relax in.
The island has different zones for your enjoyment and relaxation, from the comfortable lounge area, to the Vibey star bar,and a wine cellar offering a selection of the owners wines, especially flown in from their Chateau in France.
There is a Jellyfish restaurant which offers breakfast and more formal dining and there is a media room for those needing Tv and internet access. There is a boutique at the reception and a star dive center with top of the range Scubapro equipment.
The island is blessed with hot and sunny weather year round with temperatures between 20 and 30 degrees which rarely falls below 20 degrees at night. The water temperature is warm and falls between 24 and 30 degrees plus. The rainfall on the island is not much and while it makes the land arid for local gardeners, it is still very good for guests.
The land is more accessible now with Turkish Airlines and South African Airlines flying directly into Maputo. The African regional carrier, Afrilink also visits Mozambique with passengers, before the passengers are finally transported to the Island with a state of the art helicopter just minutes away.
